An infinitely aged man,
via voice over, tells us about his life and the changes he has seen, and
how the desperate action of a young mother still lingers before his eyes.
By using voice over, the narrator's own opinions, the audience is open
to judge him sane or insane with a greater freedom than if we, as film
makers, presented the same story as the truth.
In addition to the distinctive style of the Super 8 mm reversal negative film stock some additional visual effects are also utilised. As the narrator hints at a mystical or religious background we never clearly see him. He appears only in long shots or we glimpse just his hands or mouth. This effect is further heightened by slightly exposing the film to extra light as we shoot creating a deliberate overexposure which bleeds across the frame. The central character believes that the pace of the world has reached a point where he can no longer participate. This will be illustrated via the inclusion of time-lapse clips of the world around him. Jeff Bellamy as 'The Old Man' Camera Assistant:
