Press Release from the Commonwealth Society:
| James Bhagwan of Guerrilla Media (Fiji)
and David Storr (UK) were awarded Joint First Prize in the Commonwealth
Vision Awards. The Highly Commended Award was received by Ansurie Singh
from South Africa, while Tim Clague and Kim Rogers of the United Kingdom
received a Special Award for Innovation. The seven other long-listed entries
came from: India, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Canada and the Pacific.
The short-listed films will be distributed to television stations across the Commonwealth from the beginning of 2004, to be shown on or around Commonwealth Day 2004, Monday 8 March. The theme for the 2004 Commonwealth Vision Awards (which will reflect the theme for Commonwealth Day 2005) will be determined shortly, and entry forms for the fourth annual Commonwealth Vision Awards will be available online at www.rcsint.org/vision.jsp The awards are sponsored by the (UK) Department for International Development, The Commonwealth Broadcasting Association, the (UK) Foreign & Commonwealth Office, BBC World Service, The British Council, The Commonwealth Foundation and the Commonwealth Secretariat. |
